Foodie Adventures: Day 2
Friday, 20 February
FRIDAY! YES! The weekend was almost near! I went to classes then excitedly returned to my apartment where Rachel was waiting and ready to go. It wasn’t the nicest day out, but it wasn’t pouring, so a tour of Madrid was in session! I feel like kind of a cheat since I’ve done the Madrid Tour so many times, but hey practice makes perfect. Plus, there’s food at the end of the tunnel, but I’m getting a little ahead of myself here.
We hit the usual spots [spoiler alert for anyone who reads my blog and is going to come visit me within the next year]:
- Sol
- Opera: Opera House, Gardens, Palacio Real
- Calle Mayor to the Plaza San Miguel
- Plaza Mayor
- Sol to see the “center-center” and the Oso
- Kebabs!
Whilest we were eating it started to rain a bit, but nothing some chit-chat and good food couldn’t wait out.
That night for dinner, we decided to have tapas since we didn’t get tapas that day for lunch. We made our own tapas as well as our own hybrid of Tinto de Verano and Sangria, now named Tinto de Sangria.
It was nice to just sit, drink, and munch on frutos secos (as in mixed nuts)… AND we had a pomegranate! Random right? Totally worth it. I have to learn how to upload videos on Blogspot so I can show you the process of getting the seeds out.
Anyways, the tapas were wonderful and delightful and wonderful!! What a great dinner for Adventure Dinners Part 2!
